Sr. Systems Engineer Los Angeles, CA 07/14/2010
Strong candidates will have the drive and proven ability to own the internal and external network and be accountable for its uptime and high performance.
Responsibilities
• Provides advanced troubleshooting support, with accountability for resolution of outages, service level issues, and user support needs requiring collaboration
• Conducts systems analysis and translates user requirements into business solutions
• Monitors and analyzes metrics in order to implement optimization strategies
• Defines best practices and technology roadmaps
• Evaluates new technology and techniques in order to improve systems infrastructure
• Drives continuous improvement: design, definition of roadmaps, standardization of processes and methodologies
Desired Qualifications
• Expert knowledge of technology and software design and deployment principles
• Ability to articulate end-to-end technical requirements across delivery functions
• 7+ years experience working with internal and external organizations solving complex problems and handling large scale projects
• At least 4 to 5 years Unix systems administration experience preferably in CentOs
• Enterprise class hardware, servers, storage and networking experience and familiarity with Tier 1 vendor technologies (HP, Dell, Cisco)
• Excellent TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS and networking knowledge and experience
• Excellent Mail, FTP, LDAP, NIS and Automount experience
• Experience in Apache, Tomcat, and Java environment
• Expert experience with cloud technologies
• Working knowledge of Database Administration – MySQL
• Proven ability to drive systems optimizations on large scale infrastructure
• Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in highly complex systems and drive performance optimizations
• Direct the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Company’s production and corporate network technology
• Manage the planning, configuration, installation, systems management and coordination of LANs/WANs in order to ensure a cost-effective and efficient infrastructure
